Warning: This post contains spoilers. I recommend reading after you’ve watched the episode!
Coco Montrese, who was eliminated in the previous week, left the girls thinking about her purpose in the competition and how she managed to get closure with Alyssa Edwards, Roxxxy Andrews and Detox also seemed to be teasing Jinkx Monsoon about not being a part of Ro-Laska-Tox and how she was the odd-one-out in the group. They were pretty harsh!
Back in the workroom the next day, the top 4, were told about this week’s mini challenge. In this episode, the girls had to pick a puppet which represents one of their competitors and drag it up! Then, they must create a little puppet show where they throw shade at their chosen girl! Roxxxy accidentally came across as really rude and Alaska did hilariously and was the winner!
For the main challenge this week, the final 4 are being thrown The Sugar Ball! They must put together three looks for the main stage – Super Duper Sweet 16, Sugar Mama Executive Realness and Candy Couture. Alaska’s mini challenge win meant that she got a head start at choosing her real candy that all the girls must incorporate into their outfits.
Ru visited the girls while they were working on their challenge. She seemed a little worried about Alaska who was struggling to use a hot glue gun cotton candy. Jinkx seemed to be lacking in candy on her costumes and Ru thought Detox was a little behind schedule. And RuPaul didn’t seem to like Roxxxy’s outfit at all.
RuPaul also announces that the four must choreograph and perform a Sugar Babies routine for the main stage! Alaska was assigned as the choreographer as she won the mini challenge.
The girls got time to practice their performance on the main stage and there was a lot of tension between Jinkx and Roxxxy and Detox. They had some problems with timing and also the lyrics and I don’t think anyone knew them!
Back in the workroom, they girls all have so much work left to do when Jinkx’s narcolepsy kicks in. Oh no!
The next day, the girls try to finish their outfits. Alaska has huge problems with her cotton candy-inspired dress and there were just chunks falling off it! Jinkx could also seem some problems with Detox’s dress.
The Sugar Babies performance, though being slightly simple, was overall very polished and well done! Detox looked gorgeous and Jinkx’s lip-sync was hilarious!
Super Duper Sweet 16
Alaska’s outfit was reading as rich teen girl who uses daddy’s credit card. She was texting her friends and made an amazing diva! Jinkx’s look was very hippy-inspired and she looked good, though not that ‘fashion forward’. Roxxxy was glittering blue marshmallows and looked stunning, although she did seem a little slutty for a 16 year old! Detox was channelling Pink Ladies and the 80s with her gorgeous pink look!
Sugar Mama Executive Realness
Alaska looked like such a cougar in her black pant-suit and short white hair – stunning! It was a nice change seeing her with different hair! Jinkx reminded me of a less-slutty Tatianna but I really didn’t like her orange costume! Roxxxy was very Devil Wears Prada and Detox was serving Mugler! She looked just like she did in one of her performances of Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now at Micky’s!
Alaska’s pink cotton candy fantasy was flawless and luckily didn’t fall apart! Jinkx’s outfit was very candy-cane and Christmassy and Roxxxy’s dress was perfectly with individually-applied candy laces! Detox’s outfit was electric greed and well made, just not very candy-like!
Alaska was complimented on all her looks and she committed to the character. Jinkx’s Sweet 16 look was critiqued for looking too old and was also read for not using the hoop skirt. Roxxxy was told her Sweet 16 look was a little ‘promiscuous’ but the judges complimented her Candy Couture! Unsurprisingly, the judges were critical on Detox’s line green dress and Santino commented on her ‘taste level.’
Stirring the pot a little, Ru asked the girls who they thought should not be in the bottom three. They all suggested Jinkx Monsoon, however Jinkx said Detox.
Alaska won the challenge! She won a photoshoot with Austin Young! Annoucing Roxxxy Andrews as safe, it meant that Detox and Jinkx Monsoon were to lip-sync for their life!
The song this week was the interesting Yma Sumac – Malambo No. 1! The song was perfect for Jinkx and was absolutely hilarious! Detox and Jinkx were both sickening in this lip-sync, however Ru decided that Detox was to sashay away.
The top three are Alaska, Roxxxy Andrews and Jinkx Monsoon!
